WEDNESDAY

THREE POETS WHO SING IN ONE SPECIAL EVENING

6.15

Like a maple leaf in a gust above the prairies, Taylor Abrahamse blissfully glides beyond the borders of song, gender & genre with his/her deftly crafted, hook-laden hammerclaw pop.  A Paul Simon/Prince crossbreed and a Kerrville Newfolk Winner - (s)he’ll leave you laughing, inspired, and singing along… if you can reach that high. Out of love for Taylor's writing, Eddie Kramer (Hendrix, The Beatles, etc), insisted on co-producing/mixing his acclaimed debut album. Fresh from a US tour with #1-selling Itunes artist Flamy Grant, Taylor will be releasing new OAC-funded music throughout 2025.

Diem Lafortune is a Tkaronto-born/based award winning multiple nominated singer-songwriter of Sami / Cree (Treaty 6), and Jewish ancestry. Like her award-winning studio CD, Beauty and Hard Times (2013), a prophetic, mesmerizing work, her new material is infused with the spirit of the “Tkaronto Mosaic” and the truth of resilience in the beauty of music. Working with Greg Kavanagh the Birdsong New Music Foundation’s support, Diem’s just finished the first single from her upcoming album, Mad Bastards’ Requiem & Resurrection Waltz.

RELAY JAM
10.30

The Relay Jam is a highly dynamic Jam session that takes place on the last Wednesday of each month. This open format jam is fully backline and lead by the house band known as QB3D (Cubed). Alonzo "ZoMo" Moore, Marius Charlemagne, and Quincy Bullen work together to curate an experience for everyone on and off stage as they lead everyone through an improvised concert. Songs will be covers or originals, or a combination of the two but always encourages a fun and fresh approach to each performance. This shoulder tap jam is an exercise in professionalism but is always open to everyone. This jam will allow every musician to have a space for any genre, as long as it feels good!
