NAT VAZER
5.30
At age five, Nat Vazer began reading horror stories and learning classical piano. 'Something happens to us when we are haunted by a feeling of familiarity'. Raised on old Beatles records and second-hand literature, the young queer Australian-born artist - the daughter of Vietnamese and Malaysian immigrants - is best known for her haunting stories and cinematic sounds that weave between indie-folk, rock and an expanding ritual of building worlds through song. Vazer has been twice nominated for The Australian Music Prize for her two studio albums. She has performed at SXSW Austin, NYC's New Colossus Festival, BIGSOUND, South Korea's Tamna Music Festival and her latest record Strange Adrenaline was nominated for Best Independent Pop Album at the 2024 AIR Awards in Australia. New music coming in 2025.
KALLISTO
8.00
Kallisto is a Montréal-based band led by composer and clarinetist Dr. Jossée MacInnis, serving as a space for playful sonic experimentation. Drawing from klezmer, jazz, improvisation, and 70s Anatolian psychedelic rock, Kallisto thrives on spontaneity—bending traditions, blending genres, and seeing where the music takes them. It’s both deeply personal and joyfully chaotic, embracing the raw energy of rock and the playful and evocative spirit of klezmer.
The result is a sound that feels both familiar and fresh—sometimes introspective, sometimes raucous, often teetering on the edge of raw and messy. Soaring melodies, intricate rhythms, and driving bass lines weave together a mosaic of influences shaped by MacInnis’s musical journey.
Originally an acoustic jazz manouche trio in 2020, Kallisto has evolved into a five-piece rock-inspired band featuring clarinet, cello, drums, electric guitar, and bass. Their dynamic performances turn concerts into immersive experiences.
Kallisto has performed at venues across Montréal, including Sala Rossa, Quai des Brumes, and Club Balattou, and collaborated with artists like Socalled and Zoë Aqua. They have released two EPs, Arcas (2023) and Tigris (2024), continuing to push klezmer’s boundaries while honoring its roots.
