Three-time Maple Blues Award nominee, Jenie Thai is a singer, songwriter, and pianist with an old-school soul, and a voice that spans more than three octaves. Inspired by America’s great songwriters, she blends her love of classic R&B and roots music in tough but tender ballads and fiery house-rockers. Jenie spent a decade on the road with 270 + dates a year across Canada, pockets of the US, and Mexico. Recent accomplishments include receiving standing ovations on stages such as Massey Hall, Mariposa Folk Festival, and the New York Jazz Forum Arts Festival. Furthermore, she has been on a multi year tour as a supporting act for the Downchild Blues Band.

Grooveyard is a high energy funk, r&b, and beyond band under the leadership of guitarist Michael Occhipinti and singer Lester McLean, with Paul Neufeld (keyboards), Doan Pham (drums), and Nikku Nayar (bass). The band’s set list is rooted in old-school funk and soul that Grooveyard uniquely makes its own while also drawing on reggae, dance music, ‘80’s new wave, classic rock, and mash ups with hidden gems. The band is all about getting people grooving and moving and having a great time, which is why they’ve been a staple of Toronto’s music scene for over two decades.

15$ cover after 10pm, with all proceeds going directly to the musicians performing.

Next Perfect Day is a city pop band playing Japanese and Korean city pop tunes from the 1980s. A mixture of different Western music styles such as disco, R&B, funk, soft rock, and jazz fusion, city pop brings a sense of nostalgia and longing amidst a busy city life.
Next Perfect Day aims to offer an authentic but fresh take on the Japanese and Korean classics for a new generation of urban audience.
