Donné Roberts, a two-time Juno Award winner and four-time nominee, is a Madagascar-born, Toronto-based singer-songwriter and guitarist. Known for his catchy melodies, powerful lyrics, and high-energy live performances, Donné connects deeply with audiences, often singing in Malagasy, his mother tongue. His music transcends language barriers, creating a universal experience for listeners.

Donné gained wider recognition in Canada with albums like *Rhythm Was Born*, *Internation*, and *OYA* (2021). He’s also known for his contributions to the African Guitar Summit (Juno Award in 2005) and Okavango the African Orchestra (Juno Award in 2017). A versatile artist, he’s collaborated with Canadian musicians like the Sultans of Strings and Amanda Martinez.

Raised and educated in Moscow, Donné is fluent in Malagasy, French, and English. He made history as the first Black VJ on MTV Russia. His diverse career includes touring as a backup singer for Ace of Base and composing theme songs for CBC Radio’s *Fresh Air* and ABS TV in Japan, after a successful 2018 tour with Yukiko Tsutsui. His music blends African rhythms with various global influences, introducing new fans to his unique sound across Canada.
