ONE PIANO, TWO SISTERS - MARIEVA & PRISCA DÁVILA

The sisters Prisca and Marieva Dávila, are Venezuelan pianists, singers and composers, recognized for their characteristic musical works, in which they merge in their compositions and interpretations, the nuances and dynamics of classical music and the harmonization and improvisation of jazz with the genres of traditional Venezuelan music and the spell of flamenco. They perform a repertoire of four hands piano, in the concert performances, Prisca accompanies Marieva while she shows as a flamenco dancer the fusion of this art with Venezuelan rhythms and jazz. Their discography includes 2 albums “Un piano, dos hermanas” and “Travesía-Canciones de Latinoamérica”. At this time, the percussionist Jesús Galdona will be part be of the show.

Prisca and Marieva have performed at concerts in Venezuela, the United States, Mexico, Trinidad and Tobago, Czech Republic, and at festivals such as the World Culture Open Korea 2004, the LulaWorld Festival- Toronto 2018 and at the University of Ottawa, Canada.

ANAHI MARIULAN

ANAHI RAYEN MARILUÁN is a Mapuche musician who composes songs in Mapuzungun, the language of the Mapuche people. His compositions are imbued with the conviction of contributing to the future of his people. In her artistic expression, she sings of women, grandmothers and the Mapuche territory, showing the continuous habitation of her community on the land.

Anahi Rayen Mariluán has given concerts in several European cities, including Jena, Berlín, Bonn, Heidenheim and Köln in Germany, Barcelona and Valencia in Spain, and Holland. In addition, he has participated in festivals in different countries such as Cuba, Peru (Lima and Cusco), Chile (Temuco, Valdivia, Coyhaique, Manquemapu) and the United States (New York).

Anahi has a poetic and audiovisual approach in her musical interpretations, collaborating with filmmakers such as María Manzanares and Bruno Osorio. His video clip "Pire-Nieve" was selected for the LENGUA MADRE FILM FESTIVAL at the National Museum of American Indian, Washington in 2020. A year earlier, the same work participated in the Cinema Showcase of the Smithsonian Museum in New York. This year, his work "SIN COMBATE", first prize in the Clip FAB video, participated in the Hemispheric Institute and won the 8M National Work Acquisition Award, in addition to being the first prize in other national festivals. In addition, the video clip "Mapu Kimun" won First Prize at the Bariloche Audiovisual Festival in 2015.

Currently, Anahi presents a documentary based on her third album. The project won the Film in Progress Award at the FAB and has the support of the Argentine National Film Institute (INCAA). In addition, she has given a TEDx talk on the history of Mankewenüy, resulting in first prize in Panama, Bannafest 2023. Anahi has also been awarded the Bicentennial Scholarship awarded by the National Fund for the Arts for the development of the 12 songs that make up her album "Mankewenüy", receiving this scholarship 8 times. In 2023, it will premiere songs performed with Mapuche sounds in the open air, demonstrating its commitment to free and necessary music.
