GNO

Since 2005, the GNO Vocalist-friendly Jazz Jam has become a tradition for Toronto jazz vocalists of all levels.
Founder Lisa Particelli encourages all to perform, share, teach, learn and grow in a nurturing, safe & friendly environment backed by top flight professional jazz musicians.
Co-hosts Ilana Waldston and Sam Broverman, along with Peter Hill on keys and Jordan O'Connor on bass will make sure everyone has a great time. Bring two lead sheets or sing a jazz standard and, if you need help, the band will help you find your key.

SONIC SANCOCHO - Edición Gracias a la Vida
11.00

TICKETS

It's been a tremendous summer for Sonic Sancocho, so we're welcoming fall with a cup of gratitude on Sunday, October 13 for a special Thanksgiving edition.

Cumbia Power - one of Toronto’s heavy hitters in the sound, led by acclaimed percussionist, Anita Graciano - will hit the stage at Drom Taberna for TWO sets that live up to their name. Aline Setton and Kosmos Sol will spin an array of cumbia, dub, funk, salsa, and more. As always, Founders, Juana Go-gó and olasconola close out the night with a bold blend of music to keep the party going.

Complimentary cup of Sancocho at midnight for ticket holders - please note: first come, first served.

About Sonic Sancocho:
The spice of life in sound, shared with community.

Much like ingredients in a universal dish - a big pot of soup - here, platters of sound are spun and served with warm welcome. Musical ingredients from around the world, from a local perspective, for all to share and enjoy.

Founded by selectresses olasconola & Juana Go-Go in Toronto, Canada, Sonic Sancocho is a community gathering of music and food - two things that nourish heart and soul. They bring forth the B Sides and the beloved of Latin music, with sounds from around the world, to your venue through all-vinyl DJ sets and dynamic live performances. Sancocho is where all of the ingredients come together and are shared amongst one another - from the starches to the spices and everything in between.

We turn up the heat to bring it to a boil, coming together to enjoy a moment of connection through a serving of soup, within layers of sound, endless movement and fun.
