El Ceibo is an Argentinian folk music group that formed in 2019. Featuring typical instruments, they blend traditional rhythms and harmonies with contemporary jazz elements, creating a unique and refreshing sound. Their self-released EP showcases their distinctive style, leading to radio features on CBC Radio 1 and Jazz FM (among others) and performances at prestigious events and venues like the Toronto Jazz Festival and the Living Arts Centre. El Ceibo's passionate performances and diverse repertoire have captivated audiences, bringing the vibrant sounds of Argentina to Canadian stages.

Andrea Scala:

Born in Italy and based in Toronto, Andrea Scala is a drummer, artist and composer. He started to work as a live and studio session drummer with various bands and songwriters, collaborating with established musicians in the field of rock and progressive music, pop, alternative, world-music and jazz bands. His collaborations include concerts with Roberto Tarenzi, Francesco Puglisi, Nicola Costa, Karl Potter, Piccola Orchestra La Viola, Duo + 2 Quartet, etc. and recorded some albums with Jeffrey Kollman, Tommy Denander, Ron Thal. In February 2020, he released his debut album as a leader “Coming Back, Leaving Again”, the music is a mix of jazz, experimental and electronic. Andrea currently works on his own music as a musician,  composer and producer, among his latest new collaborations are the brilliant artists David Binney and Shahzad Ismaily.

Stanford Cheung:

Stanford Cheung is a Yamaha Artist from Toronto who works in classical, contemporary, electronic, and experimental music. Stanford is recognised for his core collaborators with Richard Reed Parry, Shahzad Ismaily, Morgan Fisher, Nobuo Kubota, and Steven J Fowler. His work has been featured in  festivals including Osaka University OCCA, Christchurch University WinterSound, Banff Centre for the Arts, Rhubarb Festival, and Edinburgh College. He has held artist residencies at Medea Electronique (Athens), Studio Kura (Fukuoka), IKLECTIK (UK), and Figure 8 (New York), and was a recipient of the Boris Roubake Memorial Prize. Stanford holds a doctorate degree in music from McGill University's Schulich School of Music, where he also served as a lecturer and instructor.
