MATTHEW TENEDERO QUARTET
6.00

The Matthew Tenedero Quartet is a jazz group that was formed in the hallways of Humber College. The group loves to play lot's of different kinds of music like folk and even R&B but we focus mainly on straight ahead as well contemporary styles of jazz. Standards and original tunes as well. Our sound can be described as highly melodic, intimate and introspective since there are no drums in our groups so it gives us an interesting chance to explore the different tone colours of our instruments.

BLISK ft. BETH SILVER
8.00

BLISK is a synthesis of polyphonic Eastern European song, dance, and movement backed by hypnotic percussion. It's a musical journey through Ukraine, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, the Balkans – and beyond. Described as “beauty – in the voices, the look, and the sounds,” by Roots Music Canada, the Toronto-based, all-female trio was brought together by a deep love and respect for the ancient songs and dances of these regions, bringing the tunes to life for our modern world through unique original compositions, storytelling, dance, and distinctive arrangements of traditional folk music.

PETAL LOOP ft. DREW WESLEY
11.00

A weekly ambient jam hosted by Ray Sun and friends. This week featuring Drew Wesley:

Drew Wesely is a Brooklyn-based guitarist, composer, and improvisor focused on relationships between noise, timbre, and duration using various preparations and amplification systems to expand the sonic potential of the instrument. Their practice draws from the fractal scales of form that emerge in improvisation as well as the spatial and physical aspects of sound perception.

Recent works include ‘blank body’ an intermedia solo work released via Infrequent Seams, and ‘hypersurface’ an improvising trio with Lester St. Louis and Carlo Costa.

Drew has performed at The Stone, Roulette Intermedium, Offene Ohren, Fire Museum, and many other venues nationally and internationally throughout Europe and Asia. Drew was recently a recipient of Foundation for Contemporary Arts Emergency Grant in support of an extended tour in mainland Japan.
