KENNY KIRKWOOD

Kenny Kirkwood is a Juno award-winning Canadian musician who has toured internationally in a career spanning three decades.  He has worked with Gord Downie, Kim Mitchell, Jacksoul, Kevin Breit, NOJO and Paul Reddick.  Kenny has also opened for James Brown, Al Green and performed for Quincy Jones.

Harlem-born, Kenny spent his childhood in Zambia, experiencing traditional Bemba and Nyanja music, language and culture, and hearing local folk and pop groups and church choirs.  These experiences deeply ingrained in him the value of the communal and spiritual aspects of music, song and dance in everyday life.


UV & THE RAYS

UV & The Rays is a jazz/surf rock trio comprised of Yuval Aberman on guitar, Tal Davidson on bass, and Micah Sky on drums. Their music is a combination of influences ranging from Khruangbin to Phish, with hints of jazz, reggae and hip hop sprinkled throughout. Fuelled by Aberman’s expressive guitar playing, supported by Davidson’s groovy bass lines, and anchored by Sky’s steady rhythm, the band thrives as a creative canvas on which to explore popular music with a unique approach.

Come and discover Brazilian culture and dance forró with the band Forró de Mané (Brazil), who are returning to Toronto after a year.

Forró is one of the most famous and popular Brazilian social dances. Forró music has an engaging, cheerful and syncopated rhythm, with a theme related to the cultural and everyday aspects of the northeastern region of Brazil.

The group Forró de Mané was created in 2022 from a gathering of Brazilian artists in the city of Montreal and since then has made a name for itself on the Canadian music scene, promoting Brazilian music at various events. The band was very well received by the public and, since its creation, has played shows at festivals, concert halls and events in Canada and Brazil.. The group's monthly concerts, traditionally held at Montreal's La Sala Rossa bar, have welcomed more than 3,000 people in 16 editions.

Sabbatical Bob is a Funk-Forward Fusion outfit that authentically blends traditional funk with elements of Jazz, Soul, Rock and R&B designed to provide a highly danceable and extremely entertaining performance experience. Based in Michigan, Sabbatical Bob is dedicated to keeping the funk alive and making their contribution to the continued living history of B.A.M (Black American Music) in Detroit and beyond. Their sound is shaped by artists such as James Brown, Earth, Wind and Fire, Prince, Stevie Wonder and Lettuce.
