The excitingly creative Canadian jazz quartet, THERMO has launched their debut album, Birdlike. Featuring Nathan Hiltz on guitar, and Mike Manny on piano, this album demands attention from not only the dedicated audience of forward-thinking jazz listeners, but also from anyone interested in hearing well-executed music. Performing selections from the hard-bop era, the ten tracks pay homage to compositions by jazz masters, Freddie Hubbard, Horace Silver, Cedar Walton, Wes Montgomery – to name a few. Only having hit the streets in June 2022, Trash Panda Brass is a new and exciting voice in the Toronto brass band scene. Within a year and a half, they graced the cover of Whole Note magazine, rocked TD Jazz Fest, DoWest Fest, and Small World Festival, and recorded their debut EP. In an effort to bring music and joy to as wide an audience as possible, they regularly play at community events and educational workshops and can still be seen playing on the streets of Toronto. With all arranging done by members of the band, Trash Panda is known for their upbeat and fun loving tunes, paying homage to quintessential queer hits and icons. Trash Panda Brass is proud to be here and queer!
