Vocalist, composer, educator, and bandleader Raquel Marina Skilich is recognized for her adaptability, competence, and originality. Raquel recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in Jazz Comprehensive at the University of Toronto. She is a winner of the 2023 Youth 4 The Ages competition hosted by the Niagara Jazz Festival and often leads her own bands around the GTA performing her own arrangements and compositions. Additionally, Raquel has more than five years of experience teaching voice, piano, and composition lessons to students of all ages. As an emerging Canadian jazz artist, Raquel is optimistic in building a music career to connect with others on a deeper level creatively and authentically.

Duke Street Turnaround is a country and bluegrass band based in Toronto. With influences like Tony Rice, Alison Krauss and Gordon Lightfoot they breathe new life into traditional material, adding their unique spin to classic songs as well as original material. With a mix of soothing vocal harmony and driving instrumental breaks, there really is something for everyone in this magical bluegrass medley! Their upbeat and danceable sound brings together the worlds of fiddle music, old and modern country as well as jazz and blues. This live show is sure to get your head bopping and your toes tapping!

WOODSHED ORCHESTRA

The Woodshed Orchestra exists to uplift people. The Woodshed Orchestra mashes up classic dance styles from all over the world into a soulful celebration. Iconoclastic Toronto drummer Dave Clark (Rheostatics, Charles Spearin, Dinner is Ruined, Gord Downie…) created The Woodshed Orchestra with passionate, courageous and joyful friends to play the music from his original songbook. Clark leads the band “Levon Helm-style” from the drumkit, singing and sharing the lead vocal duties with members of the band. The band is a powerhouse that can improvise and turn tunes around on a dime to create unique frenzied moments that leave audiences awestruck and excited. The Woodshed Orchestra can play out as an electric band with drums, guitars, horns, keyboards and vocals and just as easily break out into a New Orleans-type 2nd Line brass band on parade. They plays with all the love that they have in their hearts every time they take the stage. It’s a beautiful thing.
