FRIDAY

JOSH WARREN & SARAH STEVENSON
6.00

Visiting for a short time from Montreal, 2x Downbeat Award winner, vocalist Sarah Stevenson is ready to join forces with bassist Josh Warren once again, debuting their project in Toronto.

Playing an eclectic mix of music, spanning genres from Latin, to traditional jazz, to funk and RNB, these two young musicians are sure to bring a heavy hitting band with spunk.

Stevenson and Warren both hail from Vancouver Island, which is the birthplace of many renowned jazz artists, due to a vibrant arts scene. The two musicians both decided to head east to pursue their studies in jazz music, and have both embraced the music here as well.

Joined by Simon Williams on piano, and RJ Lee on drums, two of Humber college's outstanding musicians, this show will be a spectacle you don't want to miss.

SOUL SUBLIME
11.30

Back by popular demand, disco-powerhouse Soul Sublime is hosting a second edition of their Earth, Wind & Fire Tribute show at Drom Taberna. All the favourites from the R&B legend’s catalogue will be featured, from their sizzling hot funk tracks to their 4-to-the-floor disco mega hits of the late ‘70s, with many Earth, Wind & Fire-adjacent crowd favourites and other surprises thrown into the mix.

Established in 2022, Soul Sublime is a 7-piece project characterized by high-energy renditions of disco and R&B classics from Donna Summer to Dua Lipa. Like the DJs of the hottest disco clubs in the ‘70s, they keep a steady stream of dance floor classics spinning all through the night, and take the energy up a notch with their live horn section and electrifying vocal performances. As a wise person once said, “there are shortcuts to happiness, and dancing is one of them”.

ZUFFALO
2.30

Zuffalo’s music is groove-driven, uplifting psychedelic rock with folk- and pop-based melodies and harmonies. With funky beats and monstrous riffs that can enter realms of blues and hard rock, their songs consist of instrumental sections where the musicians communicate with each other to create unique stories in sound. Soaked in rich harmonies, the lyrics are about love but are also laced with quirky metaphors, and often touch on subjects of science fiction and nature. Since the musicians are always reacting to the vibe in the room, this makes the Zuffalonian audience essential, and Zuffalo always aims to keep their audience groovin’.
