“Moonshine Revival” is the new side project of acclaimed jazz vocalist, Tia Brazda. With repertoire ranging from the 1930s to the present - drawing from blues, jazz, folk and country -count on a deep dive into the darker side of the American songbook at this debut performance.
Also featuring additional arrangements by long-time collaborator and guitarist, Mike Freedman, the group performs everything from Bessie Smith’s “Devil’s Gonna Git You” to sinister pop hits like Nancy Sinatra’s, “Bang, Bang”. ‘Moonshine Revival’ plays like a Film Noir Soundtrack.

DiVKA presents a sonic journey through the untamed beauty of seasonal music traditions from Ukraine, Bulgaria, Poland, and Syria, bringing together ancient harmonies and modern edge to reimagine koliada and other pre-Christian winter music.
The evening will pulse with the hypnotic, ancient bandura and the visceral, throaty cries of village songs, layered with the deep, resonant growl of viola. Bulgarian harmonies will crash together like waves, Syrian melodies will spiral like smoke, evocative and haunting, and Ukrainian carols will shimmer with icy precision.
This is not just delicate holiday music. This is the music of long nights, roaring fires, and the unstoppable force of women keeping traditions alive through sound.

Oscar Donald has played at various venues in Toronto over the years, mainly in the genres of jazz and progressive rock. Some of his early musical influences include John Coltrane, Herbie Hancock, Charlie Parker, Gentle Giant, Stevie Wonder, Weather Report, and Yes, to name a few.
His Quintet’s performance at Drom Taberna will mainly include performances of jazz classics, but will also showcase some of his original music which blends the genres of pop, progressive rock, and jazz. The mixture of these genres can be complex, yet refreshing. The performance will feature lots of in-the-moment creativity and improvisation.
The band for this show consists of a group of well established and incredibly talented musicians from Toronto and the surrounding area. Be ready for a very exciting night of music from this newly formed Quintet.
