Karla García is a Toronto-based musician and teacher. She is a classically trained guitarist and originally from Castro, Isla de Chiloé, Chile.

As a performer, Karla plays a wide variety of musical genres such as contemporary, classical, latin american, and more. She has also participated in many guitar festivals and concerts around South America and North America.

In 2010 she was awarded as a “Best Performer” at the César Cortinas Guitar Contest (Atlántida, Uruguay).

Karla has also taught master classes at one of the largest guitar festivals in Chile and South America, “Festival Entrecuerdas”.

Named for the sixth month of the year and a semiprecious stone said to protect anyone travelling by night or by water, Junestone is the innovative and illuminating musical vision of Olivia Brown, Borys Franiczek, Ian Aisling, and Justin McHugh.

Smitten with jazz and rock as they are, the band’s playing and writing are inspired by America’s Classical Music and 90’s alternative hits alike. Although consistently influenced by music from everywhere, they ultimately owe it all to American music legends like Charles Mingus, James Brown, and Erykah Badu.
